He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD, Senegal) and a Habilitation to Direct Research (HDR) in Infectious and Tropical Diseases from Aix-Marseille University (AMU, France). Over the past 25 years, he has focused on malaria, persistent and emerging infectious diseases in West Africa, leading numerous projects and international collaborations with CNRS, Institut Pasteur and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. His professional experience includes leadership roles at Aix-Marseille University, IRD, Institut de Microbiologie de la Méditerranée (CNRS) and multiple Pasteur Network centers, reflecting a strong global research presence.
