Mr. Philimon Feyisa is an active researcher in livestock science with a strong focus on small ruminant genetics, nutrition, pastoral production systems, and rangeland restoration. His research contributions span community-based breeding programs, forage technology evaluation, livestock productivity enhancement, and disease diagnostic approaches. He has played a central role in national-level goat and sheep research initiatives, including the development of long-term commodity research strategies and model breeding village frameworks in Ethiopia. His research publications cover diverse areas such as cattle management and marketing systems, camel pox diagnostics, improved forage technology demonstration, feeding management impacts on export-market bulls, and therapeutic evaluation of trypanosomiasis treatments in experimental models.
