Dr. Neusha Gopal | Cardiology | Best Researcher Award

Cardiologist | Nizam’s Institute Of Medical Sciences | India

Dr. Neusha Gopal, MBBS, MD, DrNB (Cardiology), is an emerging cardiology researcher and academic at the Department of Cardiology, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad. Her growing research portfolio reflects a strong focus on clinical cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, cardiac risk assessment in systemic diseases, and translational applications of cardiac diagnostics in complex clinical scenarios. Her recent publication, “Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography in End-Stage Liver Disease: Insights from Pre-Transplant Cardiac Assessment-A Cross-Sectional Prospective Study from a Tertiary Cardiac Centre in South India” (2025), demonstrates her pioneering contribution to understanding cardiac performance in hepatic patients undergoing transplant evaluation. The study provides key insights into cardiac stress evaluation using echocardiography and underscores the importance of cardiac pre-screening in optimizing transplant outcomes. In addition, Dr. Neusha Gopal has contributed to multidisciplinary research through co-authored works such as “Van Wyk–Grumbach Syndrome” (Thyroid Research and Practice, 2019), “Incidence of Microvascular Complications in Newly Diagnosed Diabetes Mellitus” (Evidence Based Medicine and Health Care, 2019) and “Increased Risk of Recurrent Ischemic Stroke in Anemic Patients” (Indian Journal of Public Health Research & Development, 2020). These works collectively highlight her collaborative efforts across endocrinology, diabetology, and neurology, linking systemic disorders with cardiovascular outcomes. Her research interests encompass cardiovascular imaging, heart failure, stress echocardiography, ischemic heart disease, and cardiometabolic disorders. She also demonstrates academic initiative in conducting and organizing cardiology workshops and clinical training programs at NIMS, promoting evidence-based cardiac care and young researcher development. Dr. Neusha Gopal’s scholarly achievements include conference presentations and poster recognitions, notably the Best Poster Award for “Oto-Rhino-Cerebro Mucormycosis” and the Quiz Zonal CME Award (Telangana CSI, 2018). Her academic activities continue to strengthen the bridge between clinical cardiology and interdisciplinary health sciences. Through her early but impactful body of research, Dr. Neusha Gopal contributes to advancing cardiac diagnostic methodologies and integrated patient management in India’s tertiary healthcare landscape. Her dedication to translational research and academic excellence positions her as a promising figure in contemporary cardiovascular medicine.
